The decision has been made. I'm going. I still haven't decided on a place, but within 3 weeks I'm leaving New York. Anybody have any good ideas where to go?
Whats your favorite place in the world?

I would have gotten a job except I can't see myself doing a 9 to 5 that has no future in it. My goal and aspiration is to one day become a shliach. The thing that would make the most sense for me to do would be working in something which would help me to reach and achieve that goal. That’s why it made the most sense for me to come home where I would be able to, 1) study and learn- every Rabbi has to be well versed, 2) help a Shliach in the area- giving me experience and doing something that I enjoy and 3) date- before you settle down it is-I think- best to do it with a partner.
The sad facts are, learning is very difficult to do at my age, especially when your the only one in your social circle interested in it. It's a lot harder to get a decent job at a decent Shliach in the New York area then I had imagined. Basically my life has come down to me waiting to get hitched, a very sad state to live in, don't you think?
In short that’s the main reason why I didn't get a job and why I'm getting out of here. We'll discuss it in more detail in person.
I think it's a great idea for you to start a bog. It will give you an opportunity for a creative outlet. You already have all the writing tools why not put it to action? And it will give you an excuse to stay out of the kitchen when you’re done with your school work. :)

I'm signed up at the shluchim office, the guy who takes care of the program just got engaged and is getting married soon leaving him very little time to do an efficient job. Besides that takes us back to the issue of finding a shliach thats a mentch.

I am going with San Diego too. Besides for the fact that I am biased, if you are going to go anywhere you mineswell go somewhere that you already have a connection to. The community loves you there and you are already comfortable with them and the shluchim; therby eliminating the adjusting period as well as not knowing whether you will like a new place. I have to mention though that as much as it sucks to just hang around crown heights, finding your match is going to be difficult and much more expensive living anywhere else. I know the feeling though, it is not a fun place to be. It is like you are stuck, you are miserable where you are but you feel like you have to stay and have nowhere else to go. It is frustrating and many people go through it, you are not alone. I've read letters from the rebbe many times where he says not to think to much about things. The more you think about it the bigger it becomes. I know it is not such easy advice but it is food for thought. Anyways, good luck, I have no doubt it will all be good.

I've already made my decision and bought a ticket, I'm going to San Diego next week.
Only time will tell what path that will lead me on.
