Birthday wish

A birthday can be used as a time for introspection. A time to make a review of the past years actions. A time to focus on the direction the coming year is headed.
A time to pray and ask G-d for the help and strenth needed to overcome future obstacles.
Today is the birthday of the Rebbe, leader of our people.
For some the Rebbe has never been gone, but for me, sadly, it's different, I can't see him. There are days I stop wondering about the hows and whys; but I know a day dosen't pass that I don't miss him.
I've shed more tears for my Rebbe then for any other person in my life or any other tragedy I've experienced.
Some people have told me it would be the same if he were still here, that his being around wouldn't change me. They say "if you can't follow his teachings and directives now you would have found another excuse if he were still here".
Maybe they're right.
Why don't we try giving it a shot this year and we'll see what happens.

They're wrong. We need to see the Rebbe and we need to see Him now. Look at the stats. How many bachurim pre 3 tammuz look like haindiger bachurim? Look what the Yidden did when they couldn't see Moshe for an extended period of time...

Things would definitely be different if the Rebbe was here physically. But at least you could remember seeing the Rebbe. For "my generation" everything is sort of fake. Everyone from the older generation is telling us how great things were in the old days, and how much we need the Rebbe now. We're all just trying to feel like we're missing something, when we never had it to begin with.

of course they are wrong. there is a huge difference between seeing and hearing- seeing is defintely believing.
BUT it is also really important to remember that the Rebbe is concealed from us in order to stregnthen us and bring us to a higher level in our hiskashrus. It doesnt take away from the fact that we desperately want Him back, but the greatest heights are attained in concealment. our connection to the Rebbe is now higher than any logic or anything that makes sense. We are not supposed to live in the past, stuck in the memories of what it used to be. We are supposed to live in the future.

I don't understand if we wouldn't be different if the Rebbe was here, then why do we need a Rebbe?

when a tzadik passes away, he's with us more than b4.
Are u connected to the rebbe? do u do what the rebbe asks? perhaps u feel so removed and so separated b/c spiritualy u are?
The rebbe always told people that physical depression or the likes can be due to the derivation of spiritualy, the soul is calling out!
Did u give a birthday present to ther rebbe? if u connect urself to the rebbe instead of crying about how different it is, u may actualy feel connected in more ways than ever b4.

reb moish, you missed one point. No matter how connected one is to the Rebbe, he's supposed to feel like he's lacking something because the Rebbe is not here physically. We're supposed to miss the Rebbe, and we are told that if we cry enough, and demand enough, Hashem will bring Moshiach. (Of course, this can only be successful if accompanied by action.)

Here's an interesting point to ponder:
(this goes out to you schoolgirl)
Everything the rebbe said is absolute truth..
soo here it goes..'halt kup'
Rashi say's a new generarion is determined by the death of the nossi, as we see, we have 7 generations of chabad, being that there were 7 lubavitcher rebbe's...
The rebbe also said, that this is the last generation!!!
so seemingly the rebbe can't be "not with us", otherwise there would now be a new generation, which would go against the rebbe's teachings!!
So in a way - a Torah way - The rebbe is with us..possibly even physicaly! i know it sounds nuts, but can someone come up with a good answer?
